A party to party

Went from pub into pub in the name of love
Went from party from party in the search for love
But when I gave up as I'd had enough
In walks my love with a deep warm cup
She said "Fill it with love" No matter what I say
No matter what I do
It's alright
For there's an ocean of love in her
She's gonna drown me in it tonight

Went from pub into pub
Went from party to party
Fill it with love
Bought the pleasure of love from a barmaids smile
Sought the treasure of love in a garbage pile
But when I gave up as the taste turned vile
In walks my love with good grace and style
She said "Fill it up with love" No matter what I want
No matter what I need
I's alright
For there's an ocean of love in her
She's gonna drown me in it tonight

Went from lust into lust
Went from body to body
Went from pub into pub
Went from party to party etc. etc.
FILL IT WITH LOVE

Between the lines (First)

Walked upon the water
Right up to your door
War a crown of gold
And a crown made of thorns
Spoke to you in dreams
Long before you were real
And only love remembers
Remembers how it feels
Only Love remembers
Read in between the lines
From the point of light where
All things are one
Decided to divide
And become what we've become
Now we meet again in
This space and this time
But only love remembers
Remembers that you are mine
Only Love remembers
Read in between the lines
Burnt you as a witch
And worshiped you as a priest
Loved you as a child
And lusted for you like a beast
Taught you as your master
At least until you knew
Only love remembers
Remembers what is true

Between the lines (Reply)

I ran on broken glass
Away from your home
With nothing but the pain
Once again alone
Stayed awake to hate you
Wished that you weren't there
A sad heart won't forget
The pain it must bear
A sad heart wont forget
Read in between the lines
In the depth of darkness
Where nothing stays alight
We joined in with the demons
To curse each other's lives
So it is goodbye
No energy to spare
Sad heart won't forget
The pain it must bear
A sad heart wont forget
Read in between the lines
Loved you as a whore
And cursed you as a saint
Shot you like a traitor
The taste of you did taint
You kept me as your slave
Not knowing now
A sad heart won't forget
A sad heart can't know how

Blowing Home

Verse 1
The sunrays streaming in
And so my day begins
I walk out my door
To see what my new day is for.

It’s all from good to best
I can’t have more just less
Of the opposites of
Peace and love and happiness

Chorus
Eyes can’t see the wind
But my skin feels when it ends and it begins
My mind is blind
To future space and time
But my soul knows I’ll be blowing home again
Blowing home again

Verse 2
My world turns from the sun
And so my day is done
But as the darkness comes
The lights go on for everyone

And so the spiral turns
And everything I learn
I learnt once before
But it’s further now and become more

Repeat chorus

Colour of her eyes

Verse 1
The colour of her eyes
And from where they stare
Could make a man unwise
But never be unfair

Chorus
The colour of the sky will change
The sun will remain
The colour of the weather
Will never be the same
But I know one thing that will never change
The colour of here eyes will always be the same

Verse2
The colour of her eyes
And what lies behind
Could make a man unwise
But never be unkind

Chorus
The colour of the sky will change
The sun will remain
The colour of the weather
Will never be the same
But I know one thing that will never change
The colour of here eyes will always be the same

Dead Poet

Strings played by the fingers
Just paper and pen
Just a simple song that lingers
In the hearts of ordinary men
And the song that is singing
Is a song we all know
Like the dead poet writes
He's just a man that will live and die
But he knows there is more to life than seen
Like oh oh he won't see me
No he won't see me

Some say that life's illusion
Some say so we will grow
He said that the confusion
Is just the wind that makes the seeds blow
And the song the wind is singing
Is a song we all know
Like the dead poet writes
He's just a man that will live and die
But he knows there is more to life than seen
And oh oh he won't see me
No he won't see me

Don't Go

Our history has seen it a million times before
A hundred thousand warriors are marching off to war
They say it's for their country, they slay for liberty
I say a bloody battle it don't make no sense to me

Don't go, this time
Like lambs to the slaughter, marching straight in line
Don't go this time
It's much more than just another dead man, don't go

For the riches, for the power, for the gods or for the laws
But the ones doing the fighting are the too brave, young or poor
Rape innocent women, kill the children, wreck cities
For the glory of our leaders, it don't make no sense to me

Don't go, this time
Like lambs to the slaughter, marching straight in line
Don't go this time
It's much more than just another dead man, don't go

Now there's bio-chemical warfare and atom bombs galore
Enough to blow the whole world up a hundred times or more
They say they fight for freedom, I say that isn't free
Free to risk the end of it, don't make no sense to me.

Don't go, this time
Like lambs to the slaughter, marching straight in line
Don't go this time
It's much more than just another dead man, don't go

Dr. Blowaway

If you're near the end
And you want to blow it away
You just need a friend
And I know the right things to say
‘Cause I've been through that same mill
And it's not me I wanted to kill
It's just the situation that I wanted to blow away

I will be your friend
And I will show you the way
It will heal and mend
And make you want to stay
‘Cause I've been down that same road
And it's not me I wanted to go
It's just the low emotion that I wanted to blow away

Blow away all your sorrow
You can stay for a while
But there's so many suicidal people
I have here in my files.
I said “Blow away all my problems
I'll only stay for a while
‘Cause I know there's so many suicidal people
You have there in your files.”
“Doctor blow away all my sorrow
I'll only stay for a while
‘Cause I know there's so many suicidal people
You have there in your files.”

Dust on their souls

Verse1
It happened to him
Working too many shifts
To furnish his wife
With comfort and child
The anger the pain
To see infidelity
To still be so mild
Is not to be sane
Could happen to anyone
And it's never the same
And you can ask anyone
It's something that you just cannot name

Verse2
It happened to her
She gave all her wealth away
She earned it so hard
Not sleeping at all
Sold like a toy
To any boy who would pay
To not feel so wrong
Is not to be whole
Could happen to any one
And it's never the same
And you can ask anyone
It's something that they just cannot name

Chorus
Dust on their souls
Dirt on their window-
-pain in their hearts
And a germ in their brain
Repeat

Refrain
Could happen to anyone
And it isn't so strange
And you could tell everyone
But it's something that they just cannot change

Dusty Dream

Chorus
I had a dream of Mary O'Brien
There was a pool beside she was crying
On a dusty field in spring
When she was real she knew she was lying
All of the tears inside she was crying
For a Mary that she hid

Verse
And when I heard her sing
It broke my heart
The sound of the suffering
Just tore my soul apart
And when I heard her song
I fell in love
I found a woman in me that could love her strong enough
I found a woman in a dream that could love me soft enough

Refrain
Warm tears on a dusty field
Spring dream where we met
Mary it all feels so real
Let's sing the song before we wake and forget

Repeat Chorus

Verse 2
And when she heard me sing
She sang a laugh
It hurt and embarrassed me
Just flew my mind apart
But when she heard my song
She understood
I found a woman in her that could love me all too good
I found a woman in a dream that I would love if I could

Each Man

Each man tells his tale of woe
And in the spring they feel the snow
When it could all be left behind
The past is deaf and the future blind

Yet each man has his tale to sow
And in the spring they'll see it grow
As one man learns from the other's tale
And reaps I hope how not to fail

But if each man's woe was left behind
Their past was deaf and their future blind
They with seasons nature makes
Would not reap or sow mistakes

Faith in you

Verse
Sodom and Gomorrah
The fall of Rome
Parades by in my tv
While I sit here at home
Get caught in shadows
Happens all the time
Leaves me nothing to believe
But honey that's no crime

Chorus
It's a madder world than me
Throw the papers on the fire
I'll turn off my tv
You're the truth that I desire
‘Cause I have Faith in you

Verse
There's a universe within us
And when our time and life
Turns us back into the dust
Our universe survives
Beyond all that you do
And everything you say
I see you shining like a sun
You see me the same way
I have faith in you

Repeat Chorus

Refrain
You can go out into the world and do
What it is that you must do
And you can believe it's true
I have faith in you

Gold

First you're a serpent, the rib from my side
You show what is within me, now I cannot hide
Then you're an angel, all colours no sin
Although we are opposites we're united within

So I welcome you with open arms
I fear illusion there but succumb to your charms
And I shelter you from earthly harm
The world it draws you from me
Then into you I come
To become as one
To become as one
Come

I gave up my past for you, it made me a man
Now all of eternity we hold hand in hand
Warm rays from bright new stars, cold darkness so old
Now bond us in alchemy, as our love turns to gold

And I welcome you with open arms
I fear illusion there but succumb to your charms
And I shelter you from earthly harm
The world it draws you from me
Then into you I come
To become as one
To become as one
Come

Gone

I wash my own clothes and I cook my own meals
And I make my own bed here lately
If I was any more equal I'm sure I would be a lady
I give all I gain and I pour you champagne
But you just give me sh** baby
Gonna put my manhood in my hands and let my feminine rape me

It's gone.. ..on… to broader horizons
Love goes on and on and on and on and on
But you can't rely on …. this song

I've been open and true but if I ask what you do
You just yell and scream at me baby
I know I'm insecure at times but your lies are driving me crazy
Now you say that you'll go and it hurts and I know
That I'm bound to be so lonely
But if you leave ‘cause you think I'm being mean
Then you don't even know me

It's gone.. ..on… to broader horizons
Love goes on and on and on and on and on
But you can't rely on …. this song
I ask quietly then you're yelling at me
And all I want is some honesty
If my questioning is making you leave
Then I guess I'll let it be, let it be, let it be

Got lost

Verse1
I must have got lost somewhere along the road to heaven
I must have took a wrong turn between there and hell
Now I'm caught in between
A forest of dreams
And a dream is no place to dwell
And a stream of dreams is all that feeds the wishing well

Chorus
Open my eyes so that I may see
The meaning in my history
But let not all the mystery be gone
Open my heart so that I may feel
Not cause and affect but what is real
The spirit in me has been concealed too long

Verse2
I must have got lost somewhere within the sound and vision
I must have wandered far too far from my caste
Now I'm caught in the place
Where the time and space
Is like a moving holograph
I project my being but all I see is my past

Great southern Road

V1
1941 in Australia
Pioneers drove in their cars
From east to west
On the Great Southern Road
From the Great Ocean Road to the Nullarbor
The fields of gold, kangaroos galore
From west to east
On the Great Southern Road

Chorus
Great Southern Road
From the east to the west coast
Here we go
Here we go
Great Southern Road
From the west to the east coast
Here we go
Here we go
Here we go

V2
The Bitumen now covers dirt
From Sydney town to lovely Perth
Across four states
On the Great Southern Road
From the mountains high
To the low wetlands
From the Dandenongs
To the desert sands
4,000 k's on the Great Southern Road

Heart and soul

Every where I go with you
Everything I know I know through you
Every seed I sow will grow for you
In heart and soul
Everything I be I be for you
Everything I see I'm seeing you
If I'm ever free
I'm free with you
In heart and soul
Everything that's mine is mine with you
Everything I try I try for you
I could give my life and die for you
In heart and soul

Oooh everything I say you know is true
I don't even have to be with you
In heart and soul

Every where I go I go with you
Everything I know I know through you
Every seed I sow will grow for you
In heart and soul
Everything I say I say for you
Every game I play I play with you
I will never stray my way from you in heart and soul
Everything I be
Everything I see
If I'm ever free
I'm free with you
In heart and soul

Oooh everything I say you know is true
I don't even have to be with you you

Isn't a love

V1
This isn't a love it's a sci-fi sent from hell
It's a Satan witches spell
This isn't a love
This isn't a love it's emotional bribery
There's nothing here for free
This isn't a love

Ch
I want a love with honesty
I want a love with integrity
I want a love that will set my spirit free, for eternity, for eternity
Where is the love?

V2
This isn't a love it's a war fought spitefully
And the weapon is jealousy
This isn't a love
This isn't a love it's a prison made of lust
There's nothing here to trust
This isn't a love

Ch
I want a love with honesty
I want a love with integrity
I want a love that will set my spirit free, for eternity, for eternity
Where is the love?

Refrain
Maybe I'm hypnotised
Maybe I'm paralysed
But baby I've realised
This isn't a love

This isn't a love it's emotional bribery

Ladies of the Night

Ladies of the night you are the church I come to worship
From your shrine of life I did come and now return
Devoted to your light I bless you and caress you
You open up to me and receive my prayer within you
As you begin to bless me with love

Ladies of the night this wayward son has contribution
For the sacred rite performed to heal body and mind
A god given might or temptation of evil
It's all the same to me, now my sins that once seemed plenty
Are like my pockets empty, I can rise above

Like a blessed dove
Blessed by your love

Land of Sunshine (Multicoloured Dream)

To the land of the sunshine, where the dark people dream
Came cultures and colours of the whole world's human scheme
Who painted black on the canvas, sculpted grey from the soil
Took the colours from the land and sea to make rivers of deep black oil

And on these dark vein highways coloured weapons crossed the land
Pumping poison from their engines and discord to nature's plan
They painted colours in their cities for the power to buy and sell
Ripped apart the night with the neon light, so the heavens could see their hell

Still the sun shines and the dark people dream
That the sunshine's colours will be seen
In a multicoloured scheme

They dream of a nation that is powered by the sun
Unified like a spectrum with the colours of everyone
No more painting with black oil, no more poison from the cars
Let the colours run from the shining sun, like they did in the dreamtime past

Still the sun shines and the dark people dream
That the sunshine's colours will be seen
In a multicoloured scheme
In a multicoloured dream
In a multicoloured scheme

Lately

Verse1
Lately I've been crazy
I've been haunting the bars at night
Lately I've been lazy
I've been sleeping all through the daylight
Oh Lord retrieve me
Oh lord you gotta relieve me
Because something's going on , don't know how , don't know why
Something's going on, why is the night covering my eyes
Lately

Refrain 1
Let the wolf lay with the lamb
Yin in yang Yang in Yin
The sunshine holds it's shadows
Stars give grace to the deep night sin

Verse2
Lately I've been crazy
Devils dance in the neon light night
Lately I've been hazy
And I don't know what is wrong or right

Chorus
Something's going on, why is the night covering my eyes
Something's going on why is the night covering my eyes
Something's going on devils dance in the neon light
Something's going on why is the night covering my eyes
Something's going on
Something's going on
Lately

Like that

V1
It happened like that, just like that
Just when you through me right off the track
It happened like that, just like that
Just when I fell back into the abstract
It happened like that, just like that oooh hooh

Chorus1
You hurt me, so I hurt you
Funny what love can make us do
Funny how love can really hurt
You had him, so I got her

V2
It happened like that, just like that
Not as if I had a plan of attack
It happened like that, just like that
A few drinks, a few laughs and then hit the sack
It happened like that, just like that oooh hooh

Chorus2
You hurt me so I hurt you
Funny what love can make us do
Funny how love can change it's choice
New love found, old love destroyed

V3
It happened like that
Just like that
And that is that

Refrain
Starts so warm, then ends so cold
Now scared and weak, once strong and bold
Love was young, never to grow old
Now it's gone

Magic

God above
Hell below us
I didn't know which way to go
But I got through, with you
Now the world seems so magic
Right and true
Then it all seemed so tragic
But I got through
All because of you

Because of you the faults I have
Are just the shapes that make me
And it makes me feel glad
Because of you I know before I had
Just a photograph of the past
Making me mad
And it all seemed so tragic
But I got through
Now the world seems so magic
Bright and new
All because of you

God above
Hell below us
I didn't know which way to go
But I got through, with you
Now the world seems so magic
Bright and new
Yeah the world seems so magic
Right and true

All because of you

Man in the war

Man in a bar , a man in Vietnam (Iraq) (Afghanistan) (Iran???)
A man in the bottom of a glass
A man in pain a man who has slain
A man in the war in the past
Man in the war War in the man
War in the man Man in the war

Divide and destroy his wife and his boy
Are so far from him
Sent to kill against his will
On a politicians whim
War in the man Man in the war
Man in the war War in the man

And when he's asleep and all is still
Is he at peace or merely dreaming of the kill
Man in the war War in the man War in the man
Man in the war

And if all was peace and all was still
Would we be asleep and merely dreaming of the kill
War in the man Man in the war
Man in the war War in the man

Maya

V1
Remember this
When in the Maya
The sweetest kiss
Is kissing now
Adrift in mist
That is the Maya
It's shape of bliss
Is merely a cloud

Chorus
Why stay the same as yesterday?
No need to wait to fade….away

V2
Nothing's true
Not in the Maya
The timeless new
Must stand alone
Passing through
Within the Maya
Nought to do
But find our way home

Chorus
Why stay the same as yesterday?
No need to wait to fade….away

Men and Women

Things are changing, rearranging
Genders bending
Nothings plain
Men and women both are human
Genders blending
But not the same

(Things are changing, rearranging
Genders bending
But not the same
Men and women both are human
Genders blending
Nothing is plain)

But if men and women fight
For their gender bending rights
And all the love is slain
What does it matter anyway

(But when men and women fight
Defending gender rights
We separate again
And all the love wanted hides away)

Woman better love your man
Woman better love your man
Unless you wanna regret him having to leave

(Woman better love your man
And man you better love her back
Woman better love your man
And man you better love her equality )

If you know him you should show him
How to be him
Gender free
When you free him you will see him
Simply need him
And let him be

(If you love him try to show him
How to be him
Gender free
Equally too, he should free you
An you can be two
In unuity)

Miracles

Miracles they don't happen anymore
We watch the worldwide problems on our tv screens indoors
Miracles they don't happen anymore
We split the very atoms to make weapons for the war

This world it is our house our home
It should not be our foe
It would take a miracle to change this world
But miracles have made all that we know
Miracles made by us as we go

Miracles they don't happen anymore
We fly in ships of metal to the planets we explore
Miracles they don't happen any more
Can we feed the starving millions, unite races, end the wars?

More

Verse 1
I've seen it in many friends, I've been it in what I feel
Love taken from the child, now the woman steals
Your father now takes the shape of the many men you deal
But nothing can cradle the soul and only love can heal

Chorus
But you, you always wanted more
You always wanted more
Than life could give to you

Verse 2
House hermit like my Ma, bar gypsy like my Pa
Satan in the heart of God, God is Satan's friend
I offered you all my love, much more than just this world
But you turned away from me as if it ends.

Repeat Chorus

Refrain
The diamonds in the bright fast cars from restaurants to seedy bars
In nations all around the world and more and more
Too many men to a woman's jail and everywhere succeed or fail
Still reaching for what can't be held and more and more and more.

Refrain 2
You always wanted more. You always wanted more. You always wanted more and more and more and more.

My cargo and I

V1
I sailed my boat upon the ocean to try to find calmer seas
But don't you know my cargo still goes there with me
I sailed my boat upon the ocean to try to find sunnier skies
But deep and dark below my cargo it lies

Chorus
I hauled my sail high up my mast yet stowed away my painful past
Casted away my family but somehow sailed them out to sea with me

V2
When all is calm upon the ocean with just the lightest of breeze
A heavy load my cargo moves far too slowly
When storms are wild upon the ocean and lord the waves are high
A sinking wreck unless I let go this cargo of mine

Chorus
I hauled my sail high up my mast yet stowed away my painful past
Casted away my family but somehow sailed them out to sea with me

Refrain
All the jewel like memories. All treasures of family
All knowledge to sail the sea. All provisions to take with me

My Way Home

Verse 1
In the car the road was bumpy as to my birth my family drove
All my life it has been something like that bumpy old road
As a baby we were roaming and I knew so many homes
As a man I just kept goin' round this land I roamed

Chorus
‘Cause I gotta big Country that I wanna see
And I got a big heart for all the people I meet

Refrain 1
Your just like me once said the gypsy and your soul nomadic roams
Now I see my way on this highway but I don't see my way home

Verse 2
At times I get a little lonely 'cause my home is never found
I don't have a one and only, I don't have a home town
Then I think about the gypsy and I listen to my soul
Rather have this land within me than any other home

Repeat Chorus

Refrain 2
The gypsy said the way is within me, I just pray it's on this road
‘'Cause I know my way on this highway but I don't know my way home

New Morning

Each day I'd make my way
Play my work and work my play
With things to do but nothing new or open
Then one day I saw her face
My mind was bright my heart beats raced
I found myself living for the moment
It was a new morning, the wake of bran new day
Something good was happening
And if it fades away
I'll still believe in (Believe in)
Having found the way (The Way)
There is a new morning (New Morning)
There is a new day (New Day)

Thought that I could not have love
You deny love long enough
You find the fast cannot last you're starving
Now each day when I awake
I look to see her smiling face
My blues at bay I want to say good morning
Now it's a new morning, the wake of bran new day
Something good is happening
And if it fades away
I'll still believe in (Believe in)
Having found the way (The Way)
There is a new morning (New Morning)
There is a new day (New Day)

One Body

Chorus
One body, two eyes, two hands, no soul

Verses
He bought cheap land under ice and snow
Then made ice melt by burning his coal
He mined new land he could not before
For iron for steel weapons of war

He whispered lies in the people's ears
Of conflicting Gods and laws and fears
They built their weapons made from his steel
Then slaughtered more while he made the deals

He ploughed those bodies into his fields
Then planted seeds and waited for yields
But the earth quaked and cracked in the sun
Then rained so hard it drowned all but one

With hands he built his powerful greed
Eyes blind to the fate made by his deeds
One body alone on his island of gold
One body, two eyes, two hands, no soul

On your knees

Verse1
You can pull down the mountains to poison the rivers
You can blacken the oceans, put a hole in the sky
You can rape mother nature not try to live with her
How are you richer, how great, how wise?
You tell me great and wise.

Chorus
There's no religion or politics
To stop it sinking, the clock it ticks
But in the midnight hour you will be praying
Down on your knees, down on your knees, down on your knees

Verse2
You can spend it on weapons to starve the millions
You can divide the atoms not unite the world
You can make the crime legal, make nobody equal
Confusing the people with your curse your spell
It's just a curse a spell
It is a curse a spell

Over

Sometimes love it can be magic you can think that it's the way
But then love ends so tragic , it's over in a day
So stand up all you lonely ones who have lost a love before
You're not alone, feel right at home
For we've all lost one love or more
But when it's over, is it over ?
Over . Is it over….. again ?

You know love can be a lesson, it can teach you it can heal
But love can turn to aggression and it's only hate you feel
So stand up now with everyone who's love has turned impure
You're not alone, feel right at home
For we'll all stand beside you for sure
And when it's over, is it over ?
Over. Is it over…… again ?

You know love it is a circle to the rhythm of our soul
It is joy and it is hurtful but in harmony and whole
So stand back to see love as one and forgiveness is the cure
You're not alone feel quite at home
For we'll all circle round with love the core
But when it's over, is it over ?
Over. Is it over again ?
Over and over and over and over again
Over and over and over and over again
Over and over and over and over again
Is it over…. again?

Play Love

Let's play love , like children do
Let's reach for the sky and fly so high and see everything bran new
Lets grow love, wherever we can
Let's push through the soil of our daily toil and touch one another's hands

If there's a cloud hanging over your days
Love can blow your sorrow away
And if our lives are locked into illusion
Then love is the key to absolution

Let's shine love with the brightest of hue
Let's shine like a sun on everyone and make all the colours true
Lets sing love however we can
There's love and song in everyone and there is seen the plan

Rather the wind

From the sun of Sydney
To the Adelaide pouring rain
People here leave they don't change
Was once home to me
But not like you where babe
Now it's not home it' s just strange

Come out of the wind and into the rain again
I'd rather the wind just the same
Come out of the pan
And in to the fire again
I'd rather the heat than the flame

But that don't mean I'm coming back
Don't mean there's anything you lack
Can't live without you
Won't live with you
Don't want you to change

From nights in the Cross
To the churches with bars again
From everything costs to no gain
To work for the boss
Write a song to just to stay sane
Something is lost
Love remains

Real World

Verse 1
With no confusion
We watch the illusion
Float like a dream stream
Back to the sea
Inside emotions
Lie oceans of notions
You can drown in them
Or come sail with me

Chorus
Don't go now
That something real is happening
Don't go now
The real world is happening now

Verse 2
Now that I know you
I think that I'll show you
Dark lonely highways
And bright shiny days
Maybe I'll drive you
To no place to drive to
While we just lay here
And both find our way

Reconcile

V1
I was born with my own god
She prays to Mother Mary
I first worshipped the desert sun
She was born on a tropical isle
Though each and every thought and belief
We have may be contrary
Question why deep in my heart
I see love will reconcile

Ch
It takes time to mature
Like the sweet wine of the valley
It takes time to ripen good
It takes time to be set free
It takes time to cry
And laugh and dance and be merry
It takes time but in good time
Love will reconcile

V2
Dreamt of her at seventeen
Loved her at thirty seven
Met her at thirty four
And nothing's been the same
We've been the battlefields
We've felt the bliss of heaven
Now she's away from me
And no one is to blame

Refrain
Ooh ooh you know you'd like to speed it
But aah aah you know it just takes time
Yeah you know it just takes time

Rescue Me

V1
Age 17 IQ 122
But you got no job for me
Now you're pulling down my old school
And up fees for university

Ch
How's a poor boy like me
Gonna shake this poverty

V2
Defacto Dad keeps bashing me
So I live out on the streets
Shooting up then bending down
To give the suit and ties a treat

Ch
That's how a poor boy like me
Is gonna shake this poverty

V3
Smack gets back on the streets
Lining the pockets of police
Hospitals have too few beds
Cheap burial by the state for me

Ch
That's how a poor boy like me
Is gonna shake this poverty

Refrain
Well it goes round like a record
And it's a sad and sorry tune
It's found throughout history
And it comes around too soon
The rich are getting richer
The poor more poverty
The gap is getting bigger
And I've fallen in too deep

Rescue me….rescue me…rescue me

Ridiculous to Sublime

If what you fear is trouble then trouble will hunt you down
When you pull yourself from the rubble
You'll yell you didn't want trouble
But no one hears a sound
Your fear brought it around
For fear is trouble bound

If you desire a woman then ask without a sound
And when you have forgotten
The woman you've been wanting
She will then be found
Don't try to drag her down
Or she will run around

It's the way of time, the sway of time; it's the way of time
Ridiculous to sublime

If what you love is loving then give it till you die
Forget about ambition
Put down your ammunition
You don't have to try
Give love and don't ask why
And love will fill your life

Road to Freedom

V1
From Adam and Eve to Armageddon
All of us here along the road to freedom
From Socrates to Marx and Lennon
Trying to lead us on the way to freedom

Ch
Set us free why don't you set us free
Our eyes are wide open but we will not see
Which is the road along the way to freedom
Set us free why don't you set us free
Our eyes are wide open but we will not see
Which is the road along the way
Which is the road along the way
Which is the road along the way to freedom

Repeat V1 and Ch

V2
Flocks of machines and herds of weapons
Trying to take us on the way to freedom
The train always leaves but we never get on
NOW is the train that takes us all to freedom

Ch
Set us free why don't you set us free
Our eyes are wide open yet we will not see
Which is the road along the way
Which is the road along the way
Which is the road along the way to freedom

Saturday Night

Superman and bands and the Easter Bunny and money
It's a joke, I'm glad, if it isn't one then it ain't funny
What happens to me every week?
Don't even know what I seek
But each night just drags me down

Through the cars to the bars they're like wishing wells
For the glass full of laughs and the pretty girls
Music makes me dance into heaven or hell, who can tell?
On Saturday Night On Saturday Night
On Saturday Night On Saturday Night

Santa Claus and whores in a Disney funfair with guns there
It's a dream of course, if it isn't one then it's a nightmare
That happens to me every week
Don't even know what I seek
Each night just drags me down

Through the cars to the bars they're like wishing wells
For the glass full of laughs and the pretty girls
Music makes me dance into heaven or hell, who can tell?
On Saturday Night On Saturday Night
On Saturday Night On Saturday Night

Shadow on the wall

V1
You view me with your reflection seen
As though your self puts a glass between
A shield from you it could not be
For I feel you shape me
The book I am changes with every page
Only the cover do you see
Don't try to catch the shadow of a man
The world is a wall, the sun is our soul, we cast our shadows against the wall

Chorus
It's just a shadow on the wall
It's just a shadow on the wall
It's just a shadow on the wall
That's all you see
You don't see me at all
It's just a shadow

V2
The instrument that you use to gauge
Affects the subject there perceived
What you see is what you made
But you won't see me
What you cage is just a memory
Of a bird that long flew free
Don't try to catch the shadow of a man
The world is a wall, the sun is our soul, we cast our shadows against the wall

Chorus
It's just a shadow on the wall
It's just a shadow on the wall
It's just a shadow on the wall
That's all you see
You don't see me at all
It's just a shadow

She walks

Ch
She walks upon a thin white line
Between her heartbeat and no time

V1
She's sentenced to addiction
She's always doing time
No cure for her affliction
The trial is the crime

Ch
She walks upon a thin white line
Between her heartbeat and no time
Emotions childlike conscience blind

V2
She tries to fight the devil
He wins eventually
And all that she is left with
Is his disease

Ch
She walks upon a thin white line
Between her heartbeat and no time
Emotions childlike conscience blind
Dead memory past left behind

V3
Glass cylinder of madness
Contents now in her veins
She sleeps to wake in sadness
Memory is pain

Ch
She walks upon a thin white line
Between her heartbeat and no time
Emotions childlike conscience blind
Dead memory past left behind
A thin thin white line
Conscience blind
No time

Surrender

Our bodies are the vessels we've often worn ( in which we are born)
And time the stormy journey makes us worn and torn
Till all of the pieces become land sea and beaches
Then we will be all, need not sail to see all
We'll surrender, we'll surrender, we'll surrender to the will of the world

Our minds are the spanner thrown in the works
It tries to stop the bangs clatters and jerks
But it's all of our working that makes us feel the jerking
And if we'd just give in we'd be shaped to fit in
We'll surrender, we'll surrender, we'll surrender to the will of the wheels

Our souls are the seed creation has sown
And the toil of time is soil in which we have grown
Till we finally flower and we meet the sunshine's power
Then we will be one with the world, the wheels and the sun
We'll surrender, we'll surrender, we'll surrender to the will of the Way

Tables turn

V1
First of all you're working but you don't get paid
Try so hard to make it, never get it made
Just when you're thinking there's too much to learn
Success becomes your teacher when the tables turn

Chorus
When the tables turn my god you'll learn
What you send will return
When the tables turn all that you earn
May fall like your last coin into the well
My grow from a seed to a tree
When the tables turn
Ooh but you live and you learn

V2
Suddenly you're dancing, can't put a foot wrong
People out there paying, just to hear your song
Spending all your money like you've got it to burn
And poverty will get you when the tables turn

V3
We all make the heroes, the heroes know the game
Rise them up like poppies, cut them down again
Keep your eyes on your work and what you can learn
And history will love you when the tables turn

The Devil Made Me Sin

The devil made me sin
The devil got me in
Not sure I believe in him
But the devil made me sin
And if I break the law
It's the devil's fault I'm sure
I'll tell the judge at my sentencing
The devil made me sin
And if he is without
Any sin we know
Then he can judge me now
If not let me go.

Sunrise, nighttime all is one
In the right time thy will be done.

The devil got me in
The devil made me sin
Not sure I believe in him
But the devil made me sin
And at the pearly gates
When god decides my fate
I'll tell him I didn't mean to sin
The devil got me in
And if he can forgive
Like I feel he should
If another life I live
I'll live to do his good

Sunrise, nighttime all is one
In the right time thy will be done.
Yeah thy will be done
Everybody now, thy will be done

The mill

V1
I've been through the mill
For so many lives now
I can hardly tell
The flour from the grain
I tried to be still
I tried to be faithful
But the pull of my will
Took me under the mill wheels again

V2
I've been through the mill
For so many loves now
I sware it did heal
Though it plagued me just the same
I felt it was real
I thought it was sacred
But all that we feel
Shines warm then it rains once again

Chorus
Oh in each life some rain must fall
Water to the soul
To wash away it all

V3
I've been through the mill
For so many lives now
I can hardly tell
The flour from the grain, once again

The stage

Verse
All the world's a stage
We're actors in a play
And many parts are played along the way

The plot is always new
The playwright can be you
Who writes the script of all you say and do, it's true.

Chorus
For we all carry on
It's not a finished play
And we can change our role along the way, if we pray

If we pray now,
We can change our life in many ways, each day
If we pray

Verse
Woe unto me
To be or not to be
In the twinkling of an eye I could be free

To sleep per chance to dream
And see all that I've been
The character sees what his many scenes, might mean

Chorus
But we all carry on
It's not a finished play
And we can change our role along the way, if we pray

If we pray now,
We can change our life in many ways, each day
If we pray

This one's for you

Listen to me darling this one's for you
There's hearts that are calling out for one that's true
Darling this one's for you.
I remember when we met
Darling I ran from you
Twisted fate or heaven sent
Me back right there with you

Listen to me darling this one's for you
There's hearts that are calling out for one that's true
Darling this one's for you.
Even when we're apart
Darling I am still with you
In my mind and in my heart
Darling I am with you

Listen to me darling this one's for you
There's hearts that are calling out for one that's true
Darling this one's for you.
If I was asked why I love you
I'd say I have no idea
Love's not something that we choose
Darling I am for you

Listen to me darling this one's for you
There's hearts that are calling out for one that's true
It's you that I'm calling
If I was asked why I love you
I'd say I have no idea
Love's not something that we choose
Darling I am for you, you for me, me for you.

Tiny Minds

When I meld in your arms
As the night swallows day
We unite in the calm
Rhythm our bodies play
Oh the sun it took us high
And how we shone a light so bright
But we knew that at the end of the day
It's just a game we like to play
In circles turning round our tiny minds

When I fell in your love
I awoke to my dreams
And with peace like a dove
Rose above what I had been
With too many wounds to fight
We embrace and we unite
For we know that at the end of the day
It's just a game we like to play
In circles turning round our tiny minds

Working Class Cog

Clean up the mess that living made
Is what I do on Saturday
Friday night I work too late
For relief from the working week
Sunday I just nurse my head
From Saturday night's curse and dread
Some alcohol, some drugs then bed
Put to sleep the working week
I'm a working class cog in the wheels turning round and round
A slave that is robbed by the bills that seem greater than the working pay
Got to get to work each day, sure could use a holiday

And all the money that I had saved
I blew away on a working babe
Got work, got paid, got drunk, got laid
For relief from the working week
I get enough to be well fed
I get a roof over my head
I get a life no I'm not dead
I can breath in the working week
I'm a working class cog in the wheels rolling round and round
A slave that is robbed by the bills that seem greater than the working pay
Got to get to work each day, sure could use a rise of pay

So I started up a family life
Got two kids from my sweet wife
But I worked so hard just to survive
Missed my kids grow all the week
Now the tax - man tries to bleed me dead
Mortgage hangs over my head
And I just want my family fed
And the bills paid for the week
I'm a working class cog in the wheels rolling round and round
A slave that is robbed by the bills that seem greater than the working pay
Got to get to work each day, can't afford the time to play

Yearning for Learning

I met a girl in my taxi when all I thought there was was night and day and neon light and wheels a turning.
She was a Christian alcoholic, I could feel her heart yearning, yearning for learning.
I looked at her
She looked at me
And we agreed that's not where we both should be
But life is for learning
Yearning for learning.

I met a girl in my taxi when all I thought there was was noise combined with human voice I was returning.
She was a victim of the capitalist system, she was earning but yearning for learning.
I spoke me
She spoke she
And we couldn't see where we were meant to be
But life is for learning
Yearning for learning
Yearning for learning.
